Yogyakarta

Watch the dawn at Borobudur temple:

Begin your journey to Yogyakarta at the Borobudur Temple, a famous large Buddhist structure in Indonesia, located 42 km north of Yogyakarta city. Coming to Borobudur Temple, in addition to admire the special architecture of the temple, visitors can also see the undulating hills surrounding the temple to make the scene more impressive and majestic.

Enjoying the fresh air in the early morning on the hillsides, admiring the Merapi and Merbabu volcanoes, as well as seeing the massive structures surrounding the Borobudur Temple area will certainly not disappoint.

Visit the primeval forest in Jomblang cave

Formed thousands of years ago after a major earthquake, Jomblang Cave is a rare natural wonder of Yogyakarta itself. With a depth of more than 60 m, it is difficult to imagine a flora of plants at the bottom of the cave. The giant trees, fungi and ferns live here and are mostly unaffected by humans.

And if you have the opportunity to visit Yogyakarta, you should go through this cave, and cross a dark tunnel about 250 meters to reach Grubug cave and admire the mysterious beauty of the stalactites shimmering under the sunlight. You should come here from 10 to 12 noon to be able to take pictures of this amazing phenomenon.

Enjoy traditional food in Yogyakarta

The ancient city of Yogyakarta has a relatively strange cuisine compared to other regions of Indonesia, so after visiting and exploring, take time to enjoy a hearty meal. Visitors should try Gudeng - jackfruit stew. This dish is usually served with eggs, peanuts, shrimp crackers, rice and chicken.

Admire Batik art

It is known that the people living in Yogyakarta are famous for being extremely skilled craftsmen, so you will easily find unique handicrafts in Yogyakarta. In particular, Batik art focuses on the use of candle wax, dyeing and various types of fabric materials that were formed in Southeast Asian countries, learned by the people of Yogyakarta and made Batik become a famous traditional crafts of Yogyakarta. Traveling to Yogyakarta you can completely paint the patterns yourself with a tool called tjanting.

Activities at sea:

Located 25 km from the city, Parangtritis is the nearest beach. Come and experience for yourself this special black sand formed from volcanic ash. Activities like off-road riding, horse riding or even sand-skiing are available.

Not far from the beach is the Gumuk Pasir sand dune - a suitable place to take pictures and sand slide. If you do not like going to the beach, you should go to the swimming pools around and enjoy life. And in addition, Gumuk Pasir is also the ideal location to take pictures of the sunset.

Visiting Prambanan temple area:

As a magnificent Hindu temple in Yogyakarta and also the most beautiful and most magnificent Hindu temple in Indonesia. The temple is decorated with reliefs depicting a famous story about Ramayana and eight tombs, including three main tombs: Siva, Vishnu and Brahma.
